A guided tour focusing on the queer themes of the Oddkin exhibition.

On Friday, May 8, 2026, from 5:00 to 5:45 p.m., there will be a guided tour of Jessica Segall’s Oddkin exhibition, which will explore the exhibition’s queer themed elements in greater detail. The tour begins in the exhibition space Halli at 5:00 p.m. During the tour, a Kunsthalle guide will discuss the exhibition, its works, and the principles guiding the artist’s practice, with a focus on a queer themed perspective. The tour is part of Kalevan Navetta’s Afterwork Art program, and admission is free. No prior knowledge of the subject is required to participate; anyone with even a passing interest in the topic is welcome to join. The tour will be held in Finnish. Welcome!

Jessica Segall’s thinking is guided by interdisciplinary queer ecology. Queer ecology is a theory and field of study that explores the diversity of gender and nature. The exhibition’s title, Oddkin, refers to a concept developed by the American theorist Donna Haraway. Haraway suggests that care and partnership do not require a genetic family connection. Unconventional, cross-species alliances can arise unexpectedly.
