Taito Shop is celebrating Craft Friday, and throughout the day there will be special offers and refreshments! At 16:00, yarn representative Stephan Nyman will be showcasing eco-friendly yarns from the Italian brand Manifattura Sesia.

16:30–18:30 Stone Painting Workshop
Craft Classroom, 1st floor
A stone painting workshop will be held at the Seinäjoki Taitokeskus. The workshop runs non-stop, and there is a €5 materials fee. You’re welcome to bring your own stone if you like.

16:30–18:30 Meet the artist and try your hand at a spiritual drawing exercise in the air!
Arthoteque Parsi, 1st floor
The name of Arthoteque’s mini-exhibition is Enso. Enso is a kind of mental drawing exercise. It can be drawn with any materials. Explore the exhibition, meet this month’s featured artist Seppo Tanninen, and draw an enso in the air or on paper!

17:00–18:00 Musical Lecture: Stories from the Heart—Early Music Inspired by Text

The fascinating relationship between poetry and music flourished during the Baroque era, when words and melodies were inseparable. In this musical lecture, Baroque cellist Tähti Oksanen explores how music intertwined with text in the 1600s and 1700s. The relationship between text and music will be examined through sonnets, Neapolitan Baroque songs, and Bach’s sacred and secular music.

The lecture is in finnish language.

18–21:30 Kunsthalle Sticker Workshop

In this self-guided workshop, you can design and make your own sticker. You can draw inspiration from the recently opened J.P. Köykkä: Forms of Heritage -exhibition or design any kind of sticker you want. You can also leave a sticker-style message in the collective exhibition guestbook

18:00–22:00 Open Exhibition Opening: JP Köykkä: Forms of Heritage
Vintti Exhibition Space, 3rd floor
The open opening for the exhibition Forms of Heritage will be held at Exhibition Space Vintti. Köykkä’s solo exhibition features new large-scale paintings, an installation, and videos. In the exhibition, the boundary between painting and the architecture of the space becomes blurred. In his works, Köykkä explores what constitutes his visual heritage. A painting can inherit the form of the past.

You’re welcome to come alone or with friends for a longer visit, or even just to pop in for a moment. Come spend a relaxed Friday evening surrounded by art—no prior experience with art exhibition openings is necessary. A warm welcome to all!

18:00 & 19:00 Puppet show: The Star Trail of the Autumn Forest
Kammio, 1st Floor
The show tells the story of a group of forest animals on an adventure through the autumn forest. As they hop through piles of leaves, they meet some new friends who are very small and very shy—and very sparkly. Suddenly, the velvety darkness of an autumn night descends upon the forest; home is far away, and just as the friends think they are hopelessly lost, they realize that the Star Trail leads them home.

The story explores courage, friendship, a little bit of fear, and the importance of pursuing one’s dreams. In addition to puppet theater, the production features shadow theater. Each performance is in Finnish language and lasts 30 minutes. Suitable for the whole family.

19:00–19:30 Heikki Hautala
Vintti Exhibition Space, 3rd floor
Heikki Hautala is a singer-songwriter and guitarist known for his socially conscious lyrics and his music, which blends influences from rock, punk, and folk. He is best known for the band Sokea piste and his solo work. Hautala is also a visual artist by profession.

ÄMMÄT! is a group of bold singers who refuse to fit into anyone else’s mold. ÄMMÄT! aims to stir emotions, have fun, and captivate audiences with their self-deprecating and energetic performances.

20:30–21:30 p.m. Southern Ostrobothnian Country Project
Hugo Hall, 2nd floor
The South Ostrobothnian Country Project brings bluegrass and more modern country music—including songs by The Chicks—to Kalevan Navetta. The band’s lead vocalist is Anne Vihelä, who enjoyed great success on The Voice of Finland, and the musicians include some of South Ostrobothnia’s hottest country talents: Piia Kleemola (violin and vocals), Juha Kullas (mandolin, guitar, dobro), Timo Kiprianoff (banjo, guitar), and Esa Korja (double bass).
